Lando Norris responded defiantly to the boos he received after winning the Mexican City Grand Prix, insisting that he can’t help but laugh at his critics. After a weekend in which he dominated the field, the McLaren Driver followed a sensational qualifying lap on Saturday with a race win emphatic on Sunday. He leapfrogged Oscar Piastri by a comfortable margin and returned to the top position of the Drivers’ Championship with four races to go.
Norris was booed a second and third time when he stood on the podium and collected his trophy. He explained to his press conference later that he did not understand the fans’ reaction.
