Jayden Daniels Getting ‘Additional Opinions’ on Elbow Injury, Commanders HC Says

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has requested “additional” opinions before making a decision on how to treat his dislocated left elbow. Quinn said the team will have an update to reporters in the next day or so. Daniels suffered the injury while on the ground after being tackled by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth-quarter of Washington’s loss of 38-14 to Seattle on Sunday. The arm of the Commanders quarterback was in an aircast before he entered the locker room. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that it was believed that Daniels’ dislocated left elbow was “not as bad as could have been,” but that the signal-caller will still miss “several matches.”The second-year quarterback had already been hampered by injuries, having missed three of Washington’s eight first-season games due to knee and hamstring issues. In six starts in the 2025 season, Daniels has completed 62.5 per cent of his passes for 1,184 yard and eight touchdowns, with only two interceptions. He has also rushed for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Washington is still only 3-6 in the current season. This is a disappointing outcome after reaching the NFC Championship Game for its 2024 campaign. Daniels’s incredible rookie season, in which he completed 69 percent his throws and threw 3,568 yards, was key to the team’s success. In addition to his 891 rushing yards, he also scored 31 total touchdowns over 17 starts. The former LSU standout was awarded the Offensive Rookie Award for his efforts. Marcus Mariota will take over at quarterback for Daniels’s absence. Mariota has started three games so far this season.
