Luke Littler sailed into the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam of Darts after Luke van Gerwen lost 10-6 to Danny Noppert. MVG and Noppert had a breathless start as they both found four tons-plus in their first five legs. They also each scored a Big Fish, plus Noppert’s 101 and Van Gerwen’s 160.
Van Gerwen, who missed his break chance on D18 in the 10th inning, gave Noppert an extra reprieve.

Littler’s title defense continues as he finds double magicLittler displayed a magnificent doubling display, with a 105-average, to secure a 10-4 win over Wessel Njman, and continue to defend his title in Wolverhampton.

Littler’s play was electric in the first session. His near-111 average helped him sweep all five legs available. Nijman couldn’t match his performance.
Nijman returned from the break to take a small amount of control and bring the score up a bit to 5-2. But he then missed an excellent opportunity to break throw again, and Littler went 7-3 in front. “The Nuke”, as he was known to his friends and family, let out a loud celebration when he realized the importance of the 10th-leg.
Littler then took over the game, winning with 96.
