Fantasy Football Week 10 Wide Receiver Preview: Trades of Jakobi Meyers, Rashid Shaheed complicate waivers

    Imagn Images

These two wide receiver deals on Tuesday aren’t likely to change the top 12, but they will certainly complicate waiver priorities and make WR3 discussions more interesting. Jakobi Meyers will be moving from the Raiders and going to the Jaguars. Rashid Shaheed will be heading to Seattle. Parker Washington, who was the highest priority on waiver wire lists before the trade, is now among the biggest losers. Tavis Thomas is injured and Tavis hunter has been moved to the Injured reserve. In this Week 9 game, Thomas caught nine of eight targets for 90 yard. Washington’s 49.3% slot percentage was the fourth highest among receivers who played 80% or more snaps. Who’s the guy behind him? Myers. Shaheed won’t have to learn any new offenses, unlike Myers. He was in Gary Kubiak’s New Orleans offense last year, and he could be ready to go in Week 10. Horton, a rookie, will have to worry about any additional competition in a team that only throws 29 passes per game. More than a third go to Jaxon Njigba. Horton is still a good Dynasty stash but I would not start him as long as Smith Njigba or Shaheed remain healthy.

In Week 10, I see both Myers as well as Shaheed, the two guys who were traded. Shaheed’s familiarity with system and his ability to fit in is what gives him the greatest immediate advantage. Both players need to settle in their roles before they can be considered starters. Tre Tucker is one player who could see up to seven or even eight targets in a single game. Jack Bech would be a good speculative pick for deep leagues.

    Knowing the numbers

I am holding him over his bye, but I understand why some might not. Troy Franklin has the highest target share among Broncos players at 21.1%. Courtland Sutton follows him closely at 20.4%. Tetairoa McCillan is second in air yards with 42%, only behind Jax Smith-Njigba. Romeo Doubs was a top 25 wide receiver with a target share of 28.6% in Week 9. Davante Adam has been targeted 13 times inside the 5-yard line. No receiver has received more than 8.21 — Emeka Agbuka saw 21 targets over his last two matches. He’s a must start receiver despite recent lack of production.40.3 — Wide receivers get 40.3 PPR fantasy points from the Steelers per game. It’s best to start all three Chargers – even if they will most likely disappoint you. Wan’Dale Robinson averages eight targets in a game since Week 5.
