On November 15, the Dagestani made history by becoming the world’s first lightweight champion who moved up to welterweight and then won the title.
Makhachev, who is a master of wrestling, dominated Jack Della Maddalena in Madison Square Garden. He used his famous game to crush the Australian and won three 50-45 scorecards.
Makhachev, who was aiming for a major prize at the pay-per view event’s headliner fight, had many watching him. However, one UFC icon watched Makhachev for the first ever time.
