Jake Paul, the former UFC Heavyweight Champ, will no longer be boxing against Jake Paul.
Francis Ngannou was one of four names approached by Paul’s manager as a replacement opponent for Gervonta Davis, who Paul won’t be fighting on Nov. 14 after a civil lawsuit was filed against the lightweight champion.
Ngannou ultimately declined Paul’s offer to box before the end of the year, claiming the bout made absolutely ‘no sense’.
Paul criticized Ngannou’s decision to decline the Netflix fight. The two fighters then exchanged barbs on social networks earlier this week.
One of Paul’s former UFC rivals is perplexed as to why Ngannou didn’t take what could have been an easy payday.
