Harry Brook has said that trying conditions can’t be used as a “suggestion” by England’s batsmen after their crushing defeat to New Zealand in a one-day International Series. Brook’s side was rolled for 223 and then 175 points in Hamilton, as the Black Caps gained a 2-0 lead in Wellington with only one match remaining on Saturday morning (1am UK Time).
England was put to bat in both matches, but when asked whether this played a part in their poor performance, the captain responded: “Everyone in that batting order is good enough for a swinging and a seaming ball.”
