Dominick Cruz says he was in ‘such bad shape’ for his final UFC title defense.
It’s no secret that the former UFC Bantamweight Champion had his career riddled by injuries, including multiple ACL tears that sidelined him for years and forced him to relinquish his world title in 2014.
Dominick Cruz cemented himself as one of the best fighters in history when he defeated TJ Dillashaw, then champion, during his return to the ring in 2016.
Cruz fought 3 times in the same year and lost his belt to Codbrandt, at UFC207. This was Cruz’s first loss in 11 years.
Post-fight, Cruz didn’t have any excuses, but he recently revealed a number of injuries in the lead-up to his title defense.
