Conor McGregor is clearly a fan of BKFC’s toughest new heavyweight – who also happens to be a former WWE tag team champion.
The Irishman was impressed by the debuting Gzim Selmani, better known to WWE fans as Rezar who was one half of the Authors of Pain tag team who won gold on Raw and in NXT. He had to scrape himself off the canvas in order to defeat Daniel Curtin in a vicious second round knockout.
Selmani’s debut in the squared circle came with a lot of hype given his professional wrestling background. And the former Bellator star delivered in spades as he landed a highlight-reel finish that included four knockdowns.

Gzim Selmani defeats Daniel Curtin in vicious KO
After being released for a second time by the WWE last year, Gzim Selmani opted to come back to fighting instead of hitting the independent scene. He had given up a promising MMA career – which included a Bellator runout – in order to pursue pro wrestling years prior.
And his signing with BKFC made headlines that have now been justified as he scored a gruesome and bloody knockout in his first fight. The heavyweight was dropped early by Daniel Curtin in Newcastle, but quickly got up and showed his own power.

After getting up from what was essentially a flash knockdown, he floored Curtin three times before the bell saved his rival. However, when they went out for the second, it took all of 22 seconds for Selmani to land the finish.
Conor McGregor – who owns part of the promotion alongside David Feldman – was watching closely and sharing updates from the card. And when he saw the brutality of Selmani’s finish, he shared the highlights to his Instagram story as well as tagging the fighter’s nickname ‘The Albanian Psycho’.
Curtin’s face was left bloodied and bruised, while Selmani wore little evidence of what was a hard-hitting heavyweight clash. It is unclear what will happen next for the former wrestler, who has previously called out World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall for a fight in the cage given his experience over the years.
