Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden dilated his left arm with less than 8 minutes remaining during the 38-14 defeat to Seattle Seahawks. Many criticized Dan Quinn’s decision to leave his best player on the field when the game was already in hand. Daniels will likely miss a few more games as Washington’s season spirals out of control. Quinn admitted on Monday that he had left Daniels playing too long and put his quarterback’s health at risk.

“I’m sure many of you were wondering what Jayden was thinking when he played in that situation. Quinn agreed. “I have been thinking about this nonstop and I too missed it.Quinn spoke to reporters about his thoughts. Daniels’ last drive was at 12:30 in the fourth quarter, with his Commanders down 38-7. Quinn predicted that the possession of certain players such as Daniels, and wide receiver Deebo would be their last. Quinn knew the offensive plays would be vanilla and wouldn’t call for Daniels making plays with his feet — but Quinn said that was exactly where he messed-up. The reigning Offensive rookie of the year is a great scrambler.
Drake Thomas knocked Daniels to the ground behind the line of scrimmage after he scrambled right on a 2nd-and-1 with 7 minutes and 39 seconds left in the match. As the second-year signal caller fell, he tried to use his other hand to balance himself. That’s when his elbow popped. Quinn stated that Daniels had only suffered a dislocation and not a fracture. Quinn will learn more about Daniels’ potential return later this week. Sunday night was costly for Washington from an injury standpoint, as the Commanders also lost wide receiver and kick returner Luke McCaffrey to a broken collarbone, and cornerback Marshon Lattimore tore his ACL.
Marcus Mariota replaces Daniels in the starting lineup. The veteran journeyman started three games this season for Washington, winning one. He has thrown three interceptions and four touchdowns in these contests. On Sunday, the Commanders face the 5-3 Detroit Lions.
