While the top college football rankings are mostly unchanged, the first few weeks of November have seen some major changes just outside the top 10. This is due to several key head-to -head matches and some shocking upsets from Week 10. The top seven teams on the CBS Sports Rankings, which is a comprehensive ranking of each FBS team based on votes from CBS Sports and 247Sports, will remain the exact same. However, the other top 30 teams are likely to look very different when we move onto Week 11. Six of the fourteen teams who ranked No. Last week, CBS Sports 136 ranked 14 teams between No. Last week, 21 teams in CBS Sports 136 were defeated. Some of these defeats (like Miami or Georgia Tech) are of the upset type. This has led to many teams falling out of the top 30. However, because of their impressive win-loss record none of these six teams dropped lower than Houston at No. 28. Our voters have had to select their favorites from the two-loss groups and the one-loss groups to get closer towards the top 10. Notre Dame, which is on a six game winning streak, should be no surprise. The Fighting Irish are paving the way for 10-2. Oklahoma and Texas are both making significant moves outside of the top 10. The Sooners have an advantage over the Longhorns, despite the fact that Arch Manning’s team won the head to head earlier in the season. Oklahoma’s impressive win at Neyland Stadium in Tennessee against Tennessee is one reason for this.

We’re not just going to look at the top 20, but we’ll also take a look at the Mover’s Report, which is below the top-25 table. Each week, CBS Sports and 247Sports experts in college football submit ballots that are then averaged to create our rankings. You can view the top 25 here and 26-136 in our rankings.
Biggest movers No. Sawyer Robertson led the Bears to a runaway 30-3 win over UCF with three touchdowns. The victory puts Baylor back over .500 on the year now at 5-4, but making a bowl game will still be a challenge with games against Utah, Arizona and Houston left on the schedule. No. Texas (+11). The Longhorns’ ascent is partly due to other teams dropping out of the top 30, which made room for them to move up. Texas reached this point thanks to a four-game win streak, which now includes two victories against teams ranked among the top 10 when the game was played. With games against Georgia and Texas A&M left, the Longhorns control their own destiny as an SEC title contender and will look to ride this momentum into a strong close to the season. No. Florida State (+11). It would have been easy for Florida State to be buried after an 0-4 ACC start, but the Seminoles came back from their off-week with a strong performance and a dominant win over Wake Forest. The Seminoles are not likely to be considered for the top 30 but their win over Wake Forest was a solid performance and a great way to get back on the edge of the Top 50. No. SMU (+10) had fallen in the rankings after a Wake Forest loss of 13-12, but now they are back on top thanks to a surprise win over Miami. The Mustangs win keeps their ACC title chances alive, and therefore still have a way to return to College Football Playoff for a second straight season under Rhett Lashlee. No. Dave Doeren scored one of the biggest victories of his career when he defeated top-10-ranked Georgia Tech, which was previously unbeaten. The Wolfpack get a bump for the win, and now have a chance to take a couple more victories on in the final stretch of the season that could get them up into the top 40 before year’s end. No. 57 Maryland (-10%): Being beaten at home by 45 points is never fun, and it’s even worse when you do it on CBS. The Terps now have a 4-4 record on the season and will play their final three games away from home. This young Maryland team appears to be in a “must win” situation for Saturday’s Rutgers game, since two of its remaining four games will be against teams ranked among the top 35. 21 Michigan, No. 33 Illinois) No. 51 Boise State – 11: This is an unfortunate drop for Boise State, as it acknowledges that they will be shorthanded on offense for some time after Maddux Madsen’s injury last Saturday. Boise State lost 30-7 to Fresno State at Albertsons Stadium, the lowest points scored by a Mountain West team. It was also their first home loss since 2022’s MWC title game. No. UNLV (-15). Despite UNLV’s impressive 6-2 win-loss mark, voters took into account the team’s head-to-head record against New Mexico. They also began to compare UNLV to other teams with two losses. The Rebels are light on wins against top-half FBS teams and falling from the ranks of the one-loss squads led to a swift drop to the beefy middle tier in our FBS-wide rankings. No. 66 Auburn (-18). The Tigers were just 11 spots up in the rankings after their win over Arkansas last week, but our voters reversed this momentum after the offensive disaster against Kentucky. This same three-point performance prompted a coaching switch that has now become the topic of discussion around the program. Our voters demanded accountability, and they made the necessary changes to the performance on the field. CBS Sports 136: The rest of the CBS Sports teams ranked 26-136
