College football rankings: Kentucky debuts in bottom 25 after another loss

As we enter the final month of regular season, eleven of 67 Power Four squads are still looking for their first conference win. It appears that we will surpass last year’s three Power Four teams who were winless in the league. The calendar is turning to November and those three are now winless again in league play. Penn State, Michigan State, and the other three Big Ten teams that are winless in league action will all be playing each other on Nov. 15. Outside of these two teams, none of nine Power Four teams that are still looking for a win in the league will play their winless brothers and sisters. Purdue’s and Wisconsin’s situation is particularly grim. Three of the Boilermakers’ final four games are against ranked teams, while the fourth game is played on the road versus a Washington team that has a record of 6-2. Wisconsin will play four teams that have a record of at least 5-3 down the stretch.

The Bottom 25 formula for this year has been changed to ensure that all sports are represented. The Bottom 25 Rankings This week joined the Bottom 25, Bluegrass bluesAfter a 4-8 year, Kentucky will leave October without a win against a Power Four rival. Fire Mark Stoops, right? It’s not as simple as that. According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Stoops will be owed almost $38 million in 60 days if fired. It’s a different buyout than most coach contracts, where the money is spread out over a longer period of time and the future earnings of the coach are taken into account. The Cats could salvage their season if they are able to win against Auburn, Florida and Tennessee Tech. It seems unlikely based on the results we’ve seen thus far. Kentucky^24. Purdue (22)23. Arkansas (25)22. Louisiana-Monroe^21. West Virginia (21)Worthless victoriesTypically, a win for any team ranked in the Bottom 25, is considered to be so impressive that it causes a large jump. A team in the Bottom 25 can often escape from their ranking after a win. South Alabama, on the other hand, barely saw a difference after a 38-31 victory over Georgia State. Why? Why? This is what we call the Bottom 25 Battle Royale and you won’t be given much credit for beating a team that’s actually worse than yourself.

    20. Louisiana (21)19. South Alabama (18)18. Florida State (20)17. Colorado State^16. Northern Illinois (11)No. 1 vs. No. No. 11 (sort-of)The idea that Ohio State was ranked no. The idea that Penn State would be ranked No. It would have been logical to pick 11 for the Week 10 matchup before the season. You didn’t know that Penn State was No. 11th in the bottom 25. Even being No. It would have disappointed the Nittany Lions to rank 11th in the AP poll in this moment, in a season that was supposed be an “all-in” one. Penn State will be a failure by 2025, but disappointing is hardly the right word to describe it. It would be hilarious if it were to beat Ohio State in 2025 for the first year since 2016.15. Wisconsin achieves a milestoneIt may be too soon to talk about an offensive renaissance but Wisconsin achieved a major landmark in its 21-7 defeat to Oregon. The Badgers ended a drought of 14 quarter touchdowns. Yes, that’s correct. In the period between the first and last quarters of October, Wisconsin did not score any touchdowns. Hunter Simmons’ touchdown pass of 2 yards to Lance Mason ended the nightmare on Saturday night. Will Wisconsin score two or more touchdowns this November? It could be close. The opponents all have a 5-3 record or better. Nevada (12)9. Wisconsin (10)8. Oregon State (9)7. Boston College (7)6. Middle Tennessee (6)Bad CharlotteCharlotte kept doing it for the entire quarter and a haf. North Texas was one of America’s best teams. The 49ers beat them 17-7. They then showed why they have become a regular in the bottom 25. North Texas defeated Charlotte 47-3 during the final two-and-a half quarters. The 49ers conceded 27 points just in the fourth quarter as Mean Green quarterback Drew Mestemaker passed for a school-record 608 yards. Charlotte gave up 754 yards in the end.
