College basketball picks: Predictions, odds for Players Era games on Tuesday

Thanksgiving Week is here, which means plenty of college basketball action to satisfy your passion. The Players Era Festival, which takes place in Las Vegas on Tuesday, is jam-packed with action. Eight ranked teams from Sin City In games that last from late afternoon until the early morning. This is a spread that’s on par with ham or turkey, complete with green bean casserole and dressing. Preparation is key. The TNT schedule begins at 1 p.m. with a TNT matinee between Rutgers vs Notre Dame. ET before — Prepare your second monitor! A 2 p.m. Michelob Ultra Arena, located across the street from No. Creighton, and No. 15 Iowa State.  Wait, there’s more. After the first wave of games, there are four other games scheduled for Tuesday. The final game is at 11 p.m. ET kickoff between Oregon State and San Diego State.  For the celebration of this basketball bonanza i’ve asked my experts to give their picks on every game, both straight-up and against the line. Below are the picks.

Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.| All times ET Kansas vs. Syracuse 3:30 p.m. on TNT: Syracuse suffered its first loss of the season Monday at the hands of No. Houston suffered a 78 – 74 overtime defeat. It was a good performance by the Orange, and their third-year coach Red Autry. They pushed the Cougars who finished runner-up in the national championship for 45 minutes. It wasn’t a fluke, either. Syracuse shot the ball OK but committed 13 turnovers. This was a major factor in its downfall. Kansas will be the opponent for Syracuse in Vegas on Tuesday, where they’ll again be underdogs. Kansas defeated Notre Dame 71 – 61 in their first Vegas matchup, but Darryn Peterson is still injured. Without Peterson, Tre White and Melvin Council have had to step up in his absence — but it is undoubtedly a void that largely remains unfilled because of Peterson’s tremendous impact on both ends. It could be a great opportunity for them to compete as they end their respective week in Sin City.

Syracuse almost did it despite playing poorly Monday. It is hard to beat Houston, even when they are having a bad day. I’m afraid to not react enough, but also to overreact. What I’m afraid of is not reacting enough.
