Charles Oliveira announced that, following his emotional victory at Rio 2016, he wanted to fight for the BMF title next against Max Holloway.
Charles Oliveira, who returned to Rio in October to fight Mateusz Gambrot, scored a big win in the second round.
It was a controversial return because Ilia topuria had brutally knocked him out in a fight for the vacant lightweight title just a few month prior.
However, following such an impressive return, ‘Do Bronx’ stated that he was going to target a BMF title fight against Max Holloway next, and recently, there was some controversy around the fight.

Oliveira gives an update on the title fight with Holloway.
Dana White, the UFC’s boss, announced last Thursday the UFC 324 event, which will be Paramount’s first promotion.
Fans weren’t too pleased when it was announced that Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje will face off in the main event for the interim lightweight title.
However, not long after, it was leaked by the UFC Brazil social media accounts that the BMF title fight between ‘Blessed’ and Oliveira would take place on the card, but the post was quickly deleted.
After fans were left confused, ‘Do Bronx’ came out this past Sunday to provide an update of when he is targeting a rematch against Holloway.
“The fight won’t be in January, but the fight will happen,”Oliveira posted on Instagram.
“I want it, he wants it, you want it. I believe this fight will happen in March/April,”He continued.
UFC 324 is rated 10/10.
