The Spaniard was able to turn on the style at will, as he broke to lead by 3-1. Alcaraz wrapped up the opening game by breaking to Love. Alcaraz pumped his fists after Auger-Aliassime had chased down an incredibly wicked drop shot.Alcaraz praised his first-set performance by saying, “I felt I could do anything on the court.”It didn’t matter what I did, whether it was a forehand or drop shot down the court, I knew that everything would be in.Jannik Sinner celebrated his semi final win over Alex de Minaur.It was a tough match at first, particularly in the opening set. Sinner felt that De Minaur served well. The match was even up until the 11th point, when Sinner evaded De Minaur’s stumbling backhand to give the Italian a 6-5 lead. Sinner won the next game easily to win the first set.Sinner was dominant in the second set.He brought up match point by hitting a backhand volley and then sealed victory with a forehand shot that was out of reach of De Minaur.Sinner stated that “in the second set… I raised my level and tried to be more aggressive which worked well.”Tomorrow, I am going to enjoy myself, and I will do my best for the best outcome. But in any event, this has been a fantastic week.Alcaraz’s victory over Sinner this week ended his hopes of being the world number 1 in 2025. But with one last act to play, Alcaraz will aim to exact a revenge before a predominantly partisan audience. The Italian is also determined to extend his 30 match winning streak indoor hardcourts.Alcaraz stated that facing Jannik in front of his home crowd indoors is the biggest challenge for our sport at this time.”I’m hoping I have at least three or four cheering people for me. I have my friends.”
