Colby Covington’s support of Donald Trump made him an obvious candidate for the White House card.
It’s clear why Covington was named in many predicted line-ups for the card before the official announcement came on Saturday night.
The former interim welterweight champion, alongside the likes of Jon Jones, are absent from the White House card that will take place on June 14.
Bo Nickal, who wanted to face ‘Chaos’, believes this is because the promotion gave him one opportunity to be a part of the event that he passed on.

Bo Nickal believes the UFC told Colby Covington that this fight was his only White House shot
In January, Bo Nickal pitched the idea of him fighting Colby Covington at the White House following the comments that they traded back and forth at a RAF event.
The American middleweight recently said on The Ariel Helwani Show that he took this idea to the UFC, who then tried to put it together.
He believes that Covington, who took his interim welterweight belt to Donald Trump after winning it in 2018, declined despite being told that this was his shot at competing on June 14.
“I asked for him and the UFC tried to make the fight, I know they talked to him extensively and long story short, he just wouldn’t do it,” Nickal said. “I think they even told him like, ‘Hey, if you want to be on this card, you have to fight Bo’ and he said no.
“So, he would rather be a coward and not fight me than be on the White House card… I think that says pretty much everything about the guy.”
Nickal said that while he understands Covington not wanting the fight because of how it will go for him, he was surprised to see ‘Chaos’ pass on this opportunity.
“Because he knows I’ll kill him,” he responded when asked about Covington turning the fight down. “Everyone knows it would be basically leading a lamb to slaughter.”

Colby Covington said Bo Nickal was ‘posturing’ by calling him out
