The UFC 168 pay-per-view took place on this day, December 28, in 2013. The event was topped by two title fights and featured a host of notable names.
After Ronda Rousey submitted Miesha Tate in only the second women’s title fight in UFC history, the middleweight championship rematch between Silva and Chris Weidman closed the show.
The pair entered the Octagon after seven finishes in the 10 fights that came before the main event. Their contest also did not go the distance, but the manner of the stoppage was not what either man or any of the fans in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas wanted.
