Alex Pereira currently weighs 247lbs
Alex Pereira officially weighed in at 185lbs when he made his UFC debut in November 2021.
Less than five years later, the Brazilian has gained 62lbs as he tries to become the first three-weight champion in UFC history.
Pereira stepped on the scale and revealed he currently weighs 247lbs on Thursday.
The 38-year-old shared video proof that he is a physical match for his next opponent on Instagram.
Ciryl Gane weighed 247.5lbs the day before he fought Tom Aspinall at UFC 321 last October.
The French heavyweight poked Tom Aspinall in both eyes before their fight was declared a no-contest.
With the UFC heavyweight champion sidelined due to his lingering eye issues, Pereira and Gane have been booked to fight for an interim belt in his absence.
Will Alex Pereira end his career at heavyweight?
Alex Pereira recently revealed whether he plans to finish his UFC career at heavyweight.
“I could make light heavyweight again, but I don’t think there’s anything new for me there,” he said on The Ariel Helwani Show.
“Many guys just go on the heat of the moment, they jump up a weight class, and they lose, they come back to the weight division. But I’ve been expressing for a long time that I’ve been wanting to fight at heavyweight. I think I’ll stay there.
“I made all the history at middleweight, light heavyweight. I’ve been listening to my body, seeing how my body has been reacting,” he added.
“I know some guys are going to say, ‘He doesn’t have heavyweight size.’ But I feel like I hit like a heavyweight. I have trained with enough heavyweights. I weigh about 245 pounds right now, so I think this is a great opportunity for me to keep making history.”
