Carlos Ulberg isn’t buying into Jiri Prochazka’s comments or the way he conducts himself.
On Saturday night, Ulberg stopped Prochazka in the first round to win the vacant light heavyweight title in Miami.
‘Black Jag’ was able to pull off a stunning comeback after suffering a leg injury that many expected would bring the fight to a quick finish.
Prochazka argued that he showed Ulberg too much mercy by not capitalizing on this, which the new champion has taken issue with.

Carlos Ulberg knew he needed to stop Jiri Prochazka quickly after the damage that was done to his leg.

“That’s the difference between a champion and someone that is just playing for the crowd. There was no mercy in there. He was full of fear, hesitation and that’s what got him clipped.”

Ulberg, however, said that it isn’t just his rival’s comments about mercy that he thinks aren’t authentic, and he’s had this opinion for some time.
“I think he’s a pretender. I think he’s a pretender and he knows that I know he’s a pretender so I think from the very first time we faced off, he knew that this is going to be a fight… he could feel it.”
Ulberg said that he doesn’t see Prochazka beating the likes of Magomed Ankalaev to get another title shot and that his comments after the fight were his attempt to try and secure a rematch.
