Conor McGregor is being snubbed from making his comeback to the sport on the UFC White House card.
Ever since the UFC White House event was announced to take place on June 14, the sport’s biggest stars have been calling to be included on the card.
One of them being Conor McGregor, who hasn’t competed in the Octagon since 2021 when he was beaten by Dustin Poirier.
And although it seemed inevitable that the former UFC double champion would be included at the top of the billing following conversations with Dana White, things have taken a drastic turn.

Everything was trending towards ‘The Notorious’ Irishman competing on the June 14 event to some degree, whether in the main event or not.
So much so, that McGregor recently revealed that he has accepted a fight against a no-name opponent, which hinted that things were getting closer to being announced.
Not only that, but the 37-year-old is now the most-tested athlete in the UFC, which again, hinted that a return was near.
Despite that, reports this past Saturday suggested that McGregor is no longer expected to compete on the historic event.
That, to me, is a huge issue waiting to spill over.
Over the past year at least, the Irishman has clearly been getting less patient with the promotion as he has seemingly been attempting to return.
In 2016, McGregor announced his first retirement from the UFC after conveying his anger with the promotion for their handling of UFC 200.
And a similar situation seems to be brewing now.

After months and months of dangling this carrot in front of him, they’re now deciding to keep him off the card to save him for another event.
Which, look, in the grand scheme of things makes sense considering the fact that they’ve admitted they’ll be running the event at a $60 million loss.
But knowing McGregor’s personality and the growing disinterest from White, this has the makings to end extremely sour.
The promotion is instead now back in talks with Jon Jones, with negotiations ongoing regarding a potential fight against Alex Pereira.
Do the UFC no longer trust that the Irishman is the biggest draw in the sport? Do they know that he will likely look way past his best on the biggest stage?
