2026 has already been eventful for Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather recently launched a $340 million lawsuit as he looks to reclaim money that he claims is still missing from some of his biggest fights.
‘Money’ hasn’t stepped foot inside the ring since his exhibition with John Gotti III in August, 2024.
However, while the legendary boxer hasn’t commented on this as of yet, former kickboxing champion Mike Zambidis announced that he’s fighting Mayweather on June 27 in Greece.
While others questioned whether this means his long-awaited bout with Mike Tyson is officially off the table, the heavyweight star doesn’t seem to think so.

Mike Tyson still confident that he’ll fight Floyd Mayweather in the near future
A fight between Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson was initially announced last September, though there wasn’t a venue or specific date secured at that moment in time.
Tyson claimed in December that the fight would take place in Africa in March.

‘Iron Mike’, however, isn’t giving up on the prospect of him stepping back in the ring to face off with ‘Money’ in the slightest.
Tyson was asked about whether fans will still get to see him square off with Mayweather in an interview with TMZ Sports, which earned a straightforward response.
“Yeah it’s happening. S— yeah it’s happening,” he said. “You think I’d give that up? I was minding my business, he challenged me.”
Tyson went on to say that he feels “incredible” right now, boasting that he’s gone down a T-shirt size due to the shape he’s currently in.

Conor McGregor is also hopeful about Mike Tyson facing Floyd Mayweather
Last December, Conor McGregor spent some time with Mike Tyson in Dublin and was stunned by the physical shape that the heavyweight legend was in.
He told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive interview that he’s excited about the prospect of seeing Tyson face Floyd Mayweather.
“I’ll tell you what, he [Tyson] won’t lose,” McGregor said. “I hope it goes ahead, he seems confident it’s going ahead, he’s…
