‘Poatan’ returned to the UFC light heavyweight throne in October, having only been off it for just under seven months.
Pereira exacted his revenge on Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 to become a two-time champion in the division and make it six wins from eight title fights on MMA’s biggest stage.
The future is somewhat uncertain for the Brazilian, who has made his desire to move up to heavyweight clear. While Pereira wants a super-fight against Jon Jones at the White House, Dana White has dismissed that suggestion and a large portion of fans favor a different matchup for Jones’ comeback.
Should that result in Pereira staying at 205 pounds for the time being, plenty of light heavyweights have the champ in their sights, including one man he’s already gotten the better of in the kickboxing realm.
