Kamaru Usman’s former rival believes that the welterweight champion could be making a mistake.
Islam Makhachev remains steadfast that Usman would be the next opponent he wanted to face in his first defence of the 170 pounds title.
This decision has received a lot more pushback than expected, considering the other contenders at welterweight.
Belal Muhammad argued that Usman doesn’t deserve this opportunity due to turning down other matchups after returning to the win column earlier this year.
However, a fighter who knows ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ well agrees with the reigning champion that this is the toughest fight out there for him right now.
