Eberechi Eze smashed a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 4-1 demolition of Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium. Eze was playing against the team he almost signed for before his August move to Arsenal. He showed Spurs what they missed by producing three excellent finishes following Leandro Trossard’s opener.
Richarlison’s audacious 35-yard lob beat David Raya, but Arsenal was already three goals up and Eze scored his hat-trick, curling it brilliantly past Guglielmo Vicario. That ended the game.
Richarlison scored one of just three shots for Spurs. They switched to a five-man defence at half time, replacing Kevin Danso with Xavi Sims. Eze then struck again 35 seconds later, this time picking the corner brilliantly.
After Richarlison’s spectacular strike for Spurs he was awarded the hat-trick, which made him the only player to ever score a triple against Spurs. It also completed a fourth straight win for the Gunners in this fixture.
Manchester City Liverpool, which lost to Newcastle on Saturday and Nottingham Forest the following day, now has a six-point lead over Chelsea, whom they will face on Sky Sports next Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
