We should’ve known this was coming. We’ve sunk to a new low in Week 11 after pointing out that we have made progress over the last two weeks. I lost a few heartbreakers on Sunday, which led to an overall 4-11 ATS (8-7 straight bet) record. Gross. Houston and Baltimore both lost against inferior competition, but they did manage to avoid the outright upsets. This leaves a bitter aftertaste, but my five lock bets for the week were a bit better, with me going 2-3 ATS. Not good, but not terrible either. We can only pick ourselves up and move on. As always, we’ll begin by highlighting the five best bets of the week. Two rookie quarterbacks, including Shedeur, have won outright. Falcons in bad shape at the moment The Falcons have lost five consecutive games after two overtime losses in the last two weeks (one of which was in Germany). In a further blow, due to a serious knee injury, the Falcons put quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in IR and now will have to use Kirk Cousins. Cousins appeared old when he came in last week under pressure, and since last season, the team has averaged just 20.2 point per game while he was the starter. New Orleans could win its third match of the year if this trend continues, especially with Drake London (knee), who is unlikely to play in this game. If the Falcons’ defense continues to give up 27.8 total points per game as well as 399.6 total yardage of offense like they have been doing during this losing streak. Tyler Shough, who played well in the Saints’ last game, will have had time to prepare after a bye week. Saints 23, Falcons 21, projected scoreThe pick: Saints +1.5
Shedeur is getting his first ever career start, after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion.
