Sacha Feinberg Mngomezulu scored South Africa’s lone point in the second half despite facing an Ireland side with five yellow cards.
South Africa beat Ireland 24-13, their first win in Dublin since 2012, despite an almost remarkable Irish effort. At one stage they had only 12 players left after five cards were shown.
Cobus Reinach scored a try for Ireland after the team was reduced to 13 players. Then, a penalty try was awarded by the visitors following a five-metre scrum drive. Cobus Renach scored the first try of the game for Ireland as they were down to 13, then to 12, and finally to 12 after a scrum drive. Dan Sheehan also scored a try for Ireland despite being down to 13. At halftime, South Africa was down to 11 players and only managed to add one more try, through Sacha Feinberg Mngomezulu.
