Islam Makhachev lifted his teammate, who was devastated after suffering a rare loss tonight in Doha.
Saygid, a debutant Saygid at UFC Qatar, was a representative of Team Khabib as he faced octagon vet Nicolas Dalby during a preliminaries for welterweight. He did an excellent job in three rounds against a tough opponent with 14 previous UFC appearances.
The fight was awarded to Dalby by two judges, while Izagakhmaev won the other. This sparked a heated debate on social media. But one moment that caught fans’ eyes was Makhachev’s move to lift his friend up after suffering a debut defeat.

Islam Makhachev raises teammate after UFC Qatar loss
Islam Makhachev, just days after winning the UFC’s second title in Madison Square Garden at Madison Square Garden travelled to Doha across the globe to support his teammate Saygid izagakhmaev. Umar Nurmagomedov joined Hasbulla, a close friend of Makhachev’s and Umar to support their teammate.
Izagakhmaev struggled to find all the takedowns he needed to dominate his opponent, as did his teammate last weekend at UFC 322, when he faced Jack Della Maddalena. The Dane was able to get him down but he couldn’t keep it there.

When Dalby jumped to his feet at the conclusion of the third round, it seemed that the fight was a toss up. He may have just barely snuck in the score, with a few late power strikes which saw him finish the most dominant.
Cezary Wojciechowski, Ben Cartlidge and others agreed that Dalby won both the first and third rounds. This gave him a victory by split decision. Vito Paolillo had round one going the other way, but it wasn’t enough for the Russian.
Fans with keen eyes noticed that as the camera panned towards a Dalby celebrating, Makhachev in the background could be seen lifting his teammate up off the floor in a show of solidarity.
