Lucas Browne has spent most of his career as a heavyweight fighter. He won the WBA title in 2016 by defeating Ruslan Chagagaev.
At the start of his career in boxing, he competed also in MMA. He had eight fights, including a battle with UFC legend Daniel Cormier.
He has just returned from BKB Bare-Knuckle Boxing where he will be fighting Gustavo Trujillo on November 22, in Florida for the heavyweight championship.

While we’ve recently seen the likes of James DeGale make similar moves, Browne’s wasn’t a premeditated decision at first.
“It’s a funny story to be honest,”In an exclusive interview, he told Bloody Elbow. “A friend of mine, Matt Floyd, was fighting in the UK and in one of the undercard fights, the guy pulled out and he said, ‘Do you want to come over and do an exhibition?. I said, ‘Yeah, cool.’”
The fight, as ‘Big Daddy’ explained, was only an exhibition due to him weighing nearly 90 pounds more than his opponent.
However, due to connections of the person who picked him up from the airport for that fight, he’s gone on to sign for BKB and earn the opportunity to challenge for the promotion’s heavyweight title.
