Fantasy Football Week 12 TE preview: Who to start, sit, stream and DFS

Dalton Schultz was a must-start for me last week. Schultz finished as the TE8 and had 11.1 Fantasy PPR points. Otton had just two catches and 28 yards. Schultz and Otton are now the tight ends that may be most difficult to rank during Week 12. Buffalo’s PPR FPPG for tight ends is just 5.3, which Otton just missed. Travis Kelce (10.6 Fantasy points) is the lone tight end to score double-digit Fantasy point against Buffalo. Kyle Pitts and Mark Andrews each scored below seven Fantasy Points. Hunter Henry and Juwan Johnson were also held to that level. Schultz has double-digit Fantasy Points in five of his six last games. Schultz scored 14.4 PPR Fantasy Points on average in the last three matches, most of which were with Davis Mills. In these three games, Schultz has been targeted 28 times for a share of target shares of 22.8%. That’s not the kind of numbers we’d consider for a tight-end that we could bench right now. Schultz was ranked 8th as of Tuesday. If you’re afraid of the matchup, Juwan Johnson, Jake Ferguson and Dallas Goedert are all good options to start over him. Last week was a bad matchup. Baker Mayfield is expected to throw a lot of passes in Week 12, compared to Week 11. Otton could fall out of the Top 12 if Godwin returns. But not by much.

The Numbers You Need to Know

21.8 — The Bengals are giving up 21.8 PPR FPPG to tight ends, by far the highest mark in the league. Hunter Henry’s not the worst option for an emergency replacement. Dalton Schultz caught 19 passes in the nine weeks since Week 9. Kyle Pitts was targeted nine times in Week 8 when Drake London did not play. Juwan Johnson is a starter.17.9% — Tyler Shough has a target share of 17.9% with Rashid Shaheed on the field.20.3% – Theo Johnson’s target share increases to 20.3% when Jaxson dart is present. Dart’s return will give him a boost. 49 — T.J. Hockenson has not had more than 50 receiving yards in a single game this season.
