They had beaten Patten & Heliovaara 7-5 6-3 in their group match but couldn’t replicate the result in the ATP Finals final. It is a fourth championship of the year, for Patten & his Finnish partner who won the Australian Open title earlier in “It is hard to describe,” Heliovaara said Heliovaara afterward. “The whole week I have looked at the list of winners, with huge winners and I thought, if there was ever going to be my name on that, I am going to be so proud. To be there next to Henry is unreal.”Patten had a great week on a personal and professional level. He got engaged with his partner Ellie Stone during the tournament.“The tennis is pretty good but the engagement was something special,” He said. “It has been a complete dream for me. Ellie has been here supporting me all week. I am a very happy guy right now. I feel unbelievably lucky to have a partner like her and a partner like Harri.”Open image in Gallery (Getty Images).Open image in Gallery (Getty Images).Open image in Gallery(Getty Images). But for Skupski & Salisbury, it was another bitter defeat. The duo has lost every final they’ve reached since 2025. This includes heartbreaking losses in Roland-Garros & the US Open.“We’ve had some great times, we’ve had some tough times,” Salisbury commented afterwards. Salisbury had won 14 of his previous matches at the season’s-ending Finals, and won twice in a line in 2022-2023 with American Rajeevram before failing to qualify in last year. For Skupski, this was her first appearance in the final. The pair was hoping to be the first British team to win the title. Skupski & Salisbury beat Lloyd Glasspool & Julian Cash (world no.1s for the year) to reach final.
