NFL Week 11 bold predictions: Titans surprise Texans, Commanders make history

Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season kicked off on Thursday with a surprise of sorts with the New York Jets (2-8) keeping pace early with the New England Patriots (9-2) in a closer-than-the-scoreboard-indicated 27-14 victory by the host Patriots. The Patriots, who are 9-2 after two consecutive seasons of 13 or more losses, have now become only the second team to do so, following the 1999 Indianapolis Colts led by Peyton Manning. Drake Maye, a second-year QB who has thrown 200+ yards of passing in each game this season is making an NFL MVP leap. He’s the third second year quarterback to have 200+ yards of passing in 11 consecutive games since the 1970 AFL/NFL merge. What other amazing things could happen in the Week 11 weekend NFL action this year? Let’s take a look with five bold predictions.Bet Titans vs. Texans and other NFL Week 11 games and NFL odds at DraftKings, where new users who win a $5 wager get $300 in bonus bets and 3 free months of NBA League Pass: Click here to get started:

Yes, in Week 4, the Houston Texans (4-5), who led the NFL in scoring defense (16.7 points per game), and total defence (261.3 total yards allowed per game) also smashed the Tennessee Titans (1-8). It was the biggest shutout in Texans history. The Texans are also the NFL’s best in terms of scoring defense (16.7% points allowed per game) and total defence (261.3 yards allowed per game). However, 2025’s first-round pick Cam Ward, who was drafted first overall in the draft, is beginning to find his rhythm. He’s just played his first game without a mistake and has thrown 250 yards or more in three out of his last five games. Ward played well in Week 11, after a week-long bye. He secured his first win at home of his career. Jaxon Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks is set to smash records in 2025. In fact, he will surpass Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson’s record of 1,964 yards received in 2012.

Smith-Njigba also became the third player ever in NFL history to receive at least 75 yards of receiving yardage in his first nine games of the season, joining Hall of Famer Michael Irvin of 1995 and Antonio Brown of 2014. In order to become the first player in NFL history to have 75 or more yards in each of his first ten games, Smith-Njigba will need to surpass 100 yards against the Los Angeles Rams. Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro A.J. The players are Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro A.J. Travis Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick (101 yards and a touchdown in eight catches), and San Francisco 49ers wideout Kendrick Bourne (142 yard receiving on ten catches) are also worthy of mention. Smith-Njigba’s 11 catches of targets that have 20 or more yards of air this season is the highest in the NFL. In Week 11, he’ll have to make some more big plays in order to go down in the history of the NFL.

Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco force-fed No. Cincinnati beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-31 in Week 7. Chase had a record-breaking 16 catches on 23 targets, resulting in 161 yards of receiving yardage and a touchdown.  Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will surely double Chase so that he doesn’t ruin their day by sweeping the Bengals. This is only the third time in his career (2009, 2011) they have been swept. Chase’s Week 7 catch and Minnesota Vikings All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson’s 10 catches in Week 4 against Pittsburgh are the only two players this season with double-digit receptions. Tomlin and Co. will not be able to do anything in Week 11, despite the addition of safety Kyle Dugger from the New England Patriots at the trade deadline. Chase will set the NFL record for most catches in a single season. The current record of 27 was set by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice in 1994 against the Rams and Michael Thomas in 2018 against the Buccaneers. Chase will once again terrorize the Steelers and break this record shared by Rice and Thomas, even though Pittsburgh’s defensive personnel is better and they have a new reminder of what Chase can do.

Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. breaks out for first 100-yard game of 2025 vs. stingy Chargers defense Jacksonville wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is having a sophomore slump in 2025. In 2024, Thomas Jr. became the fourth AFL/NFL rookie with at least 1,200 yards of receiving (1,282), 10 or more touchdowns of receiving (10), and that includes Randy Moss (1998), Odell Beckham, Jr. (2014), and Ja’Marr Chass (2021). He has not had any 100-yard reception games this year and only one receiving touchdown. Thomas’ 50% catch-rate is the second worst among players who have at least 60 targets. Only Jerry Jeudy of the Cleveland Browns’ wide receivers has a lower rate (42%). Thomas is now averaging 52.5 receiving yards in 2025 compared to 75.4 in 2024. However, Thomas will have his first 100 yard receiving game this season against the 7-3 Los Angeles Chargers, who are allowing the NFL’s second lowest opponent passer rating (75.6). In the last meeting between these teams, Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence was able to overcome four interceptions during the first half and throw four touchdowns at the end of Jacksonville’s AFC wildcard round win. Lawrence and his Jaguars lost that game by a score of 27-0. Lawrence’s Week 11 will be a huge rebound, as he will get Thomas started early and his wideout will record his first 100 yard game in 2025.

Dolphins’ fifth straight loss to Commanders by 21 points or more is a record. Washington’s season in 2025 will be a nightmare. Jayden Daniels’ elbow was dislocated two weeks prior, and the No. Terry McLaurin, the No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL, will miss his seventh match of the season due to a quadriceps injury. These injuries, combined with the ageing of the defense has led to a huge regression since the 2024 NFC season. It’s all contributed to the Commanders losing their last four games by a margin of 21 points or more, which is tied with the longest streak since the 1970 AFL/NFL union. Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins quarterback, has led the NFL in interceptions this season with 13. But he is starting to show signs of improvement with multiple passing touchdowns scored in two out of his last three games. De’Von Achane, Miami’s running back, had a career-high of 225 yards scrimmaging and two touchdowns during the Dolphins’ upset victory over the Buffalo Bills. Wide receiver Jaylen waddle has received over 80 yards each of the past three weeks. Miami’s resurgence will result in a fifth consecutive loss for the Commanders by at least 21 points this week.
