TreVeyon Hamilton, the New England Patriots team’s rookie runningback, excelled during Thursday night’s 27-14 win against the New York Jets. Henderson ran for 62 yard and two touchdowns, while catching five balls for 31 yards. He also scored a third time. Henderson has five touchdowns now in his two most recent games. The fact that he has been able to achieve his success while Rhamondre Stephenson, the starting running back, was sidelined with a toe problem is worth noting. Stevenson took part in a limited practice on Tuesday and may be able to return after a longer break before the Cincinnati Bengals match-up on November 23. Henderson played only 32.3 per cent of New England offensive snaps in Stevenson’s eight games this year (via Pro Football Reference).Henderson may struggle if he doesn’t score touchdowns consistently. He has averaged less than four yards per run in two of his starts this season despite the high number of touches.
