‘The Diamond’ missed out on the undisputed lightweight title against the two Dagestanis. After Nurmagomedov’s third-round submission victory in 2019, Makhachev made Poirier tap out at UFC 302 five years later in what marked the Louisianan’s final shot at the 155-pound throne.
