We have only two weeks left until the conference championship weekend after Saturday. We have two weeks left until conference championship weekend. Fortunately, we are on a good note as we enter Week 12 with another four wins. Let’s continue.Last week: 4-1Season 34-21-2This may contain affiliate links for legal sports betting partners. I’m not sure that it ultimately even matters, as UVA has been begging for losses — even with Morris in the lineup. Last week, the world was focused on UConn’s game against Duke. The Huskies and Blue Devils did what they were expected to do. As Pat Narduzzi will tell you too, it was a non conference game, and Duke still has a good shot at reaching the ACC championship game as they only have one ACC defeat. Coming off a poor defensive effort last week and with a chance at playing for an ACC title in their hands, I expect Manny Diaz’s team to take care of business this weekend.PICK: Duke (-4) to win by more than 4 pointsArizona @ No. The Bearcats are coming off a bad week, after being beaten by Utah. But Arizona is an impressive team. Zona had BYU beat, but couldn’t finish, and Noah Fifita — who hasn’t thrown a pick in a month — could give the Bearcats a big upset scare. PICK: Arizona (+6.5) to lose by fewer than 6.5 points or win outrightMississippi State @ MissouriState needs one more win to get bowl-eligible and last week was the first time all year the Bullies haven’t really been competitive. Missouri is a totally different team with QB Beau Pribula out and TE Brett Norfleet missing last week due to a separated shoulder. State should be looking at this as the best chance for them to get their first win. 6. The Irish are 7-0 under Marcus Freeman in this role, with all but one game decided by fewer than 15 points. No. Michigan @ NorthwesternIn Michigan’s last 12 games where it has been a two-digit favorite, the team is 3-9 in terms of against the spread. The Wolverines are not a double-digit favorite since 2020. This is 39 consecutive wins. Excluding the 2020 season, Michigan has won 57 straight games as a double-digit favorite, dating back to a 2017 loss to Michigan State. No. Texas 10 @ No. 5 Georgia Under Kirby Smart, Georgia is 8-0 against top-10 teams in Athens, covering all but one game. Steve Sarkisian was Texas’s coach eight times. The Longhorns have pulled just one upset and that was at Alabama in 2023. No. 11 Oklahoma @ No. 4 AlabamaAs the head coach of a Power 4 team, Kalen deBoer has a 17-2 record against ranked teams. Two of the losses were against Michigan at the CFP Championship Game in 2023 and Tennessee last year. DeBoer is 16-4 in games decided by seven points or fewer as a Power 4 head Coach. No. 16 Georgia Tech @ Boston College Since 1978, there have been five games between power conference teams in which a team 8-1 or better faced a team 1-9 or worse on the road. These five teams won these games by a combined 191-22 score and none of the home teams scored over seven points. Oklahoma 41 Kansas 3, 2017 was the last time this happened. Florida @ No. Ole Miss 7A Florida defeat will be the Gators fourth loss in the last five seasons and their sixth since 2013 (13 season). From 1980 to 2012, the Gators didn’t have a single losing season and had six losing seasons from 1950 to 2012 (63 seasons) before this current stretch.
