New York is just days away from the return of the former UFC lightweight champion. CityHe will compete for the welterweight championship at UFC 322 in a pay-per view.
Makhachev will challenge Jack Della Maddalena in the Australian’s very first defense, as the Dagestani looks to become the latest fighter to achieve two-division glory on MMA’s biggest stage.
If he is victorious on Saturday, many have suggested that he retire at the top of his game like Khabib Nurmagomedov. Makhachev recently addressed Nurmagomedov’s impact on his future, insisting he would hang up the gloves if ‘The Eagle’ asked him to.
Evidently, though, Makhachev is hoping that request won’t come after UFC 322 as he aspires to achieve plenty more in the sport.
