Since Francis Ngannou’s departure from the UFC the heavyweight division is plagued by bad luck.
Francis Ngannou, who won the heavyweight title in 2023 by defeating Ciryl Gane and defended it against him, decided to leave UFC for a higher salary elsewhere.
Since then, heavyweights have been a little troubled. Recently, in the UFC 321 Main Event between champion Tom Aspinall versus the aforementioned Gane, the fight ended disastrously after Aspinall had his eye poked.
The former heavyweight champion Jon Jones also teased Aspinall with a recent callout by light heavyweight Alex Pereira. It was well received not only by the fans.

Ngannou disagrees with Joe Rogan’s recent claim
It was labelled as potentially dangerous after Jones and Pereira discussed a possible fight between them.
