Jaxson Dart exited the Week 10 New York Giants game against the Chicago Bears after he sustained a concussion on a running play during the second half. Then, midway through the fourth quarter, he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.Just moments after Dart’s exit, 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson completed a 41-yard pass to running back Devin Singletary that helped New York extend its lead to 20-10 was just over 10 minutes left in regulation. Despite the loss of Dart, the Giants lost the game as Bears quarterback Caleb Williams scored 2 touchdowns in the final 4 minutes. The Giants’ season record dropped to 2-8, including a 0-6 road record. Dart was 19 of 29 and had 242 yards before he left the Bears game. On Sunday, he made NFL history by becoming the first ever quarterback to rush for a score in five consecutive matches. He had run for 66 and two scores before getting injured.
Dart was the 25th overall selection in the April draft. He entered Sunday’s contest with 10 touchdowns against only three interceptions. Since replacing Wilson, he’s started for the Giants twice and won both games.
Dart left Sunday’s game, with the Giants in front by 17-10. The Giants led by 10 points, but the Bears rallied under Williams’ 17-yard touchdown with 1:47 remaining.
Wilson’s three of seven for 45 yard passes in relief of Dart, Wilson went 3 of 7, the Giants lost. Wilson was also sacked by two Giants defenders during his three full series. The offense only gained seven yards.
