Jack Della Maddalena’s potential move from heavyweight to middleweight was discussed.
Australia’s Della Maddalena became the UFC welterweight champion earlier this year when he defeated Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision at UFC 315 in May.
JDM will make his first title defence against former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, who was the pound-for -pound king in UFC 322’s main event on Nov. 15
This is Makhachev’s welterweight debut. After successfully defending his 155-lb title for four consecutive fights, Makhachev received an immediate title match with Della Maddalena.
While he doesn’t cut a ton of weight to make 170 lbs, Della Maddalena could see himself moving up a weight class in the future.
