Alan Shearer is a pundit and former England international who believes it’s too early to speak of Manchester United being a serious contender for qualifying for the Champions League. Ruben Amorim’s team could end the weekend as one of the top four teams if they defeat Nottingham Forest and make it four straight wins. The pressure was on Amorim before a home match with Sunderland back in October. After beating Sunderland, they went on to beat Liverpool and Brighton. The new front three of Matheus Mbeumo (left), Bryan Mbeumo (right) and Benjamin Sesko (left) started to click. City Sean Dyche is now facing the same challenge. Sean Dyche’s poor performance against Bournemouth was disappointing, especially after his success in Europe. Shearer, speaking to Betfair, said that it will be a rocking environment at Forest when Man United comes to town.”United are looking for results to keep the good run going and they’ve had a week off due to being knocked out of the Carabao Cup. I think Forest can get something from this game, but I am not sure they will win. So I will predict a draw.”I think it’s too early to say they’re the real deal and that United can finish in the top four or five. If they can continue this in a month’s time, I might change my mind, but let’s see what the next couple of weeks bring, and then we can judge whether they’re certainly improving.Bruno Fernandes’s plea is answered after he complained about Man Utd teammates. “It’s been incredible to see, obviously they’ve been going through a tough time in the past couple of years,” the England international told Stan Sport (via Goal).”But they’ve stuck with the gaffer [Amorim] and the past four or five games, you’re really starting to see how Man United should be playing, that grit and that determination to want to play for the badge. I feel like it’s been incredible to see, it’s something I feel like the league has missed.Morgan Gibbs White has spoken out ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United (Image: AFP via Getty Images). Forest did the double against United last season, but are struggling to the bottom of Premier League this term. The new manager, Dyche, got his first win in Europe. However, the defeat to Bournemouth last week has left them in 18th place.“They are beginning to turn things around, it seems, but we have to safeguard against that,” Dyche said of United. “There are subtle changes in the way they’re playing, and they have delivered performances that can win. We’ve got to be aware of that, but equally – if you look at our performance against Porto – that was a performance that we think would win against a lot of teams.“We need to find our own freedom to it, especially here at the City Ground, where they’re always in good voice, but against the bigger names, on paper. We think we can get that energy between us and that front-foot thinking from the stands, which the players will buzz off.”Join the Mirror’s MAN UTD WhatsApp group to receive daily Manchester United content.
