National Tight End Day did not disappoint the tight ends. Travis Kelce surpassed Tucker Kraft with his 21.9 Fantasy points. Four rookies scored double digits in full PPR, and of course, the founder, George Kittle, had his best game of the season. Early Week 9 projections do not indicate that momentum will continue into Week 9. Part of the issue is that one third of those who performed well in Week 8 have a bye week in Week 9. The Chiefs and Bills were projected to have a shootout and an over/under 52.5. However, it’s hard to project much of a production for tight ends. Kincaid will face a Chiefs’ defense that only has allowed one tight end to reach 10 PPR Fantasy Points (Sam LaPorta). Kelce will face a Bills’ defense that hasn’t allowed any tight end to reach this mark. There is no tight end available on the waiver wire who I think will score more points. Oronde Gaddsen is clearly a better option than both if he was recently added to your roster.

Knowing the numbers
This year, the Atlanta Falcons only allow tight ends to score 3.85 PPR FPPG. Dawson Knox is the only tight-end touchdown they have allowed. Hunter Henry is a bad option this week.309 – Oronde Gadsden has the most receiving yards among tight ends in the last three games with 309 yards. Tucker Kraft now averages 11.2 yards per reception after the catch. George Kittle had four catches in the last game, which was his highest total for three games. I’ll be concerned about his volume if he does not break out against Giants. 29.6% — Brock Bowers was a 29.6% share target in the first third of the season before his injury. He can still be a winning player if he returns to 100% following the bye. Johnson could emerge as a low end starter if Shough continues to perform well in his first game. This could be the breakout position for Colston Loveland.Week 9 streamers (TE preview)
