In the same way as this season, the Fighting Irish had to rebound after an early loss against Northern Illinois. They defeated Indiana, Georgia, Penn State and Ohio State in CFP before coming up just short in title game. They showed great fight in that championship game by cutting a 31-7 lead to eight points in the final quarter.”As far as I’m concerned, we are no longer thinking about that,” Love said. “We are really focused on what’s happening right now, and the next game.” The fact that we were so close to achieving our goal last year may have motivated us at the beginning or fall camp to push ourselves to the limit. As of now, we are not thinking about the past. We are thinking of the present, and what we can accomplish right now in order to be in a position to achieve such success.”If all goes well, that strategy could give him a second chance to play in the biggest college football game of January.
