Cincinnati Bengals are facing major criticism over a social media post they shared in the lead up to their match against New York Jets. The Bengals travelled to MetLife Stadium in New York on Sunday for their showdown with the Jets. This resulted the first win of the year for the Bengals. Justin Fields recovered from a challenging few weeks, which saw his position in the team being scrutinized. Justin helped the team win 39-38 on the day. While most Jets supporters were worried about the outcome, others were more focused on the Bengals’ social media post just one day before. The Bengals posted an image of Joe Flacco and Ja’Marr Chase in a cockpit with the MetLife Stadium and New York skyline as the backdrop. The 9/11 attacks on the city of New York, September 11th 2001 remain one of the pivotal moments in American History. Some fans have made a tenuous association between this graphic and the tragic events. Cincinnati Bengals received backlash for a social-media post they made before facing the Jets. Many fans made a tenuous connection between this graphic, and the tragic attacks of 9/11 in the city. Fans still voiced their opinions via social media. One fan asked: “Is this graphic against the New York team?”‘Another said: ‘Delete this. Embarrassing for both @Bengals and @Ticketmaster”Someone on the social media team is getting fired’, one disgruntled user said on X.Meanwhile, some fans fired off blunt messages, such as: ‘This graphic is so out of pocket lol’. ‘This graphics is crazy’. “Poor taste guys”.In the actual game, the Jets were able to end their losing streak of seven games with the dramatic MetLife win.Prior to this game, they announced that legendary player Nick Mangold had died suddenly at age 41. He is survived by his wife and four children. The iconic center, who played his entire 10-year NFL career with New York, revealed only 12 days ago that he desperately needed a transplant as he battled chronic kidney disease. Fans quickly took to social media to vent their frustrations over the ’embarrassing graphic’. But on Sunday, just an hour before the Jets game against the Bengals was played, the team revealed that the 41 year-old died Saturday night due to complications related to kidney disease.Woody Johnson of the Jets said, ‘Nick is more than just a legendary center.’ He also called Mangold one of the best to ever wear green and white.Johnson added: “He was our offensive-line heartbeat for a decade, and a beloved teammates whose toughness and leadership defined an era in Jets football. Nick’s wittiness, warmth and unwavering loyal made him an cherished Jets member off the field. Back in 2006, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder and, earlier this month, Mangold announced that he needed a new kidney, issuing a public plea to fans as he searched for a donor. Matthew, Eloise Thomas, Charlotte and Jenny were his four children.
