Chauncey William Billups, coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, was arrested by a federal Grand Jury on Thursday. He had been indicted for alleged illegal gambling. It was the culmination of a gambling investigation which involved two separate cases of gambling and illegal sports betting. Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, and former NBA player Damon Jones were all arrested. In total, more than 30 defendants have been indicted. Billups has been accused of participating in illegal high stakes poker games linked to La Cosa Nostra in New York, an organized crime group.
