‘Beastboy’ is back in the win column.
Chris Barnett proved to be a popular figure among fans during his stint in the UFC, but that was not enough to save the heavyweight fighter’s job after another setback this past October.
Barnett lost to Hamdy Abdelwahab at UFC 321 in a bout perhaps best remembered for the Spain-born American’s awkward wardrobe malfunction inside the Octagon.
That marked Barnett’s fourth loss in six fights under the UFC banner and spelled the end of his time on MMA’s biggest stage.
The 39-year-old wasted no time getting back to action away from MMA’s leading promotion, and he made a splash in his debut in a new organization.
